Course of Study

The Health Systems Management Master of Science in Nursing degree program is 39 credits, or 15 courses. Students will take two-four courses per semester and each course will be four to seven weeks in length. The program can be completed in two years of part-time study. Students can begin the program any semester.

380 Organizational Dynamics (3cr)

382 Leadership (3cr)

300 Theoretical Foundations of Advanced Nursing Practice (2cr)
4 weeks in length

303 Health Care Delivery Systems (2cr)
4 weeks in length

383 Continuous Quality Improvement and Outcomes Measures (2cr)

4 weeks in length for the didactic portion; the QI project takes place over the entire semester

301 Research Methods for Advanced Nursing Practice (3cr)

388 Management Strategies for Health Care Systems (3cr)

389 Health Care Management of Populations (3cr)

376 Program Development and Evaluation (3cr)

Beginning in Summer 2007, the following courses are offered each semester and are open to students who have finished all of the course work listed above. Students may elect to spread out these last four courses over two semesters.
